On that very same day, the picture of Elton John and his boyfriend, David Furnish, was splashed on the front page, accompanying the news report that the two lovebirds had finally gotten married in a civil ceremony in England.
I saw the picture and I thought, "Wow, this paper's gone a long way, baby." Talk about favorable media coverage. At least, that was what I thought until I read the editorial.
