The Philippine Embassy in Yangon reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the 62-member contingent of the Philippines to the 11th ASEAN Taekwondo Championships won a total of 40 medals (12 gold, 14 silver and 8 bronze) in the categories of kyorugi (sparring) and poomsae (forms) at said competition held at Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar from May 7 to 12.

HONG KONG -- Filipino taekwondo jins closed their campaign here with flourish, shining with three silvers and one bronze in the final day and taking away the men's overall runner-up honors behind Korea Tuesday night in the Asian Taekwondo Championships.

Olympic entry Donald Geisler, Alessandro Lubiano and Camela Albino captured silver medal apiece, while Margarita Bonifacio took a bronze, helping the Philippines achieve its most successful performance in this tourney in terms of numbers of medals.
