In just a matter of hours, the police solved the murder of a suspected robber who was shot and killed right after he posted bail in preparation for turning state witness. He was done in by his colleagues, the police declared.

In a report to Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., Police Superintendent Franklin Mabanag said out of 193 crimes reported last month, 184 were solved.

"The average monthly crime rate per 100,000 residents is 9.44 percent and crime solution efficiency is 95 percent," Mabanag said.

He noted that during the same period only one rape case was reported which was also solved.
