The 27th Infantry Battalion, a unit of the 601st IB led by Lt. Col. Carlos Quita, raided the MILF camp in Sitio Bunawan, Barangay Polonuling after the members of the international monitoring team and the coordinating committee on the cessation of hostilities inspected the area.


Quita said their move had the "blessing" of the MILF leadership.

                    [Summary] => CAMP SIONGCO, Maguin—danao — The Army’s 6th Infantry Division has threatened to dismantle newly established camps of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in Tupi, South Cotabato. 


The 6th ID, however, still has to wait for any concrete action against what the military considers a ceasefire violation from the joint government-MILF coordinating committee on the cessation of hostilities, which peacefully resolves peace and order problems in areas covered by a low-level peace pact.

                    [Summary] => KORONADAL CITY — The mayor of a nearby municipality has denied reports that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has established a "satellite camp" in one of the town’s remote barangays.


"Walang satellite camp ng MILF dito (There is no MILF satellite camp here). We will not allow them to establish whatever camp here," Mayor Valentin Mariano of Tupi, South Cotabato told The STAR in a phone interview yesterday.
