Montesa warned that schools would be closed down if found guilty of tolerating or promoting such abuse and cruelty in their premises. Brenda Elbambuena, 45, a teacher of the Silangan Elementary School Main (SESM), was charged based on the complaint filed by one of the students and her mother.
Elbambuena also faces an additional case of child abuse or charges of homicide pending the outcome of an autopsy on student Maria Delmar Redota, who died of acute tonsillitis last week.
