Six men ganged up on a policeman and killed him as he was investigating an incident last Sunday night in Pasay City.


Senior Superintendent Rosendo Franco, Pasay police chief, identified the slain policeman as Police Officer 3 Rogiwill Alabado, 30,  and detailed at Police Community Precinct 8 .	


Alabado was beaten up and stabbed by six men creating trouble along Maricaban street in Pasay,  


He was taken to the San Juan de Dios Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

                    [Summary] => Operatives of the Pasay City police arrested yesterday a member of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) after he shot and killed a neighbor, whom he accused of meddling in his marital problems.


The victim, identified as Leonard Pacariel, 21, a waiter and resident of Block 70 Lot 21, 17th Street, Villamor Air Base in Pasay, died from a lone gunshot wound in the chest.


The suspect, Airman First Class Joseph Cornel, 29, of the PAF’s 950th Communication Electronic Information System Group (CEISG),  was nabbed shortly after the incident.

Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas Jr., intelligence chief of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said the suspects were wearing police vests and used similar vehicles.


"We are still tying to find out whether the suspects were communists rebels  or members of a big-time robbery group," said Rojas.

                    [Summary] => A group of bank robbers struck at noon yesterday carting away at least P100,000 from a Union Bank branch along Taft Avenue in Pasay City, the second bank heist in Metro Manila this year.


Southern Police District director Chief Superintendent Wilfredo Garcia said five suspects, including a woman, posed as clients and disarmed the lone security guard of the bank before announcing the heist. The suspects were carrying short firearms. 


The suspects immediately proceeded to two tellers from whom they took the cash. They failed to get cash from the bank’s vault.
