A 21-year-old vendor, disheartened when his girlfriend broke up with him, committed suicide by drinking a bottle of acid yesterday in Malabon City.


Malabon City police chief Senior Superintendent Ramon de Jesus, identified the victim as Melencio Santos II, of 82 Liwayway St.,Barangay Bayan-Bayanan.

Police said the victim was found dead at the second floor of their house by his older brother Melanio Santos, 27.

Beside the victim was an empty bottle of acid used in cleaning jewelry.
