Taking advantage of typhoon "Glenda," two inmates destroyed the iron grills of their cell and escaped unnoticed by the lone policeman guarding them in San Mateo, Rizal last Monday.


Senior Superintendent Freddie Panen, Rizal police director, ordered the filing of negligence charges against PO1 Cerilo Bantelo, who was on duty when Alubert Sevilla, 18, and Jarimias Cruz, 28, bolted the municipal jail.

Sevilla is charged with robbery, and Cruz with theft.
