[Title] => PB alerts parents on tuition hikes
[Summary] => A legislator at the Capitol has warned parents against schools increasing their tuition fee rates because of the Reformed Value Added Tax.
Provincial Board member Juan Bolo, in a proposed resolution, said several private schools are using RVAT as an excuse to raise their tuition fees when in fact tuition fees are not included in the imposition of such tax measure.
"The E-VAT should not be used by school officials as a convenient means to impose increase tuition fee rates," Bolo said in his proposed resolution.

This was learned from DepEd officer in charge Fe Hidalgo who said that the department would now focus more on psychological factors in hiring new teachers after an educator allegedly forced her pupil to eat pencil shavings as a punishment.
