A little creativity does go away. When Tokyo-based architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham needed to promote their multi-media event space, SuperDeluxe, in Tokyo’s Roppongi district, they came up with a little networking night called Pecha Kucha (pronounced peh-chak-cha), from the Japanese term for “chitchat.”

With the headlines blaring a crisis in basic necessities such as rice and gas, something has got to give. Let me scratch that thought: it should be someone has to give. The crises of the world all stem not from a lack of resources but a lack of giving. This leads to unequal distribution of goods and not a shortage of them. We basically can’t afford to shortchange each other any longer. This shortage of giving must be changed.
