[Summary] => The Social Security System cannot simply say it will go bankrupt in a few short years had the bill granting a P2,000 per month across-the-board pension for retirees not been vetoed by Noynoy Aquino.

[Title] => EDITORIAL - Earth Hour, yet again.
[Summary] => The yearly observance of Earth Hour is meant to hype environmental awareness among people and nations. It is not meant to save on electricity as people turn off power for one hour across the globe, although it cannot be helped that some power is indeed saved during the activity.

[Title] => The differences between men and women
[Summary] =>
There are many differences between men and women. First, the way they look. Men are generally taller while women are smaller and rounder. Ooops, what am I saying? As I write this the names of tall, big women quickly pop into my head. Then I remember running into an old tall friend of mine while she was walking around with her significant other who was shorter than she.
"Are you taller than he?" I asked mischievously, as he walked away. I remember earlier years when she swore she would never go out with anyone shorter.

[Title] => Misadventure with organic chick
[Summary] =>
Last week, I remembered my grandmothers delicious boiled chicken. In it I would find chorizos, garbanzos, cabbage, potatoes, green beans, saba bananas and a round black circle that was the chickens blood. That was particularly delicious. The maid would kill the chicken while I stood and watched her get the chickens head bent backward, slash its throat with a blade and catch the dripping blood in a saucer. That saucer would be set aside for cooking later. The hen would struggle and squawk a lot, but we would all wait patiently until it died.
