[Title] => To battle for a friend
[Summary] => Tuesday night, almost the entire sports broadcasting fraternity gathered at the adidas Sports Kamp in Fort Bonifacio to go to bat for a friend.
Perhaps some of you have heard how our long-time friend and colleague, Butch Maniego, has been afflicted by kidney failure, and is now required to undergo dialysis three times a week to maintain his health. Its funny how we think how terrible something is, until it hits us when somebody we actually know contracts it, and we see how difficult the situation can be. Its no joke.

[Title] => Learn how to do sports - THE GAME OF MY LIFE by Bill Velasco
[Summary] => Its been said that a teachers ultimate goal is to become obsolete. How proud a teacher would be to instill such a love of learning in his students that he is, in the end, no longer needed. But what if the mentor has nobody to teach?
Close to a decade ago, a group of us sportscasters sat and planned the first sports broadcasting academy, to help us sharpen our skills by passing them on. Sadly, the program never got underway.
