It took ABAP (Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines) president Ricky Vargas nearly 35 hours to fly from Manila to Almaty, Kazakhstan and back over a weekend for a 70-minute meeting of the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) Executive Committee but ABAP executive director Ed Picson said yesterday the trip was worth the long haul to solidify the country’s presence as a major participant in AIBA (International Boxing Association).
