[Title] => Slight (election) fever
[Summary] =>
When my boys ask about the upcoming elections, I try and get passionate about the process and the reason they exist; but when pushed to talk about the candidates and what they represent, I have to confess that a blurring and glazing of my eyes and mind overcome me. Is it just me, or do the candidates this year seem to merely represent more of the same, the continuance of a political tradition with no substantive change in sight?

[Title] => Tears, fears for parents of hostages
[Summary] =>
Gemma Arroyo was near hysterical as she reached the police line cordoning off the bus in downtown Manila where her six-year-old daughter was among 32 children being held hostage.
"Please, please sir, let our children out," Arroyo wailed as she tried to break through the police line.
She said she had thought her daughter was at a mountain resort, the destination of the pre-school’s field trip, when she heard the news.
