Mayor Roy Jumao-as of Hindang town and his son, Jake, were aboard a taxi when two men peppered them with bullets along Gen. Maxilom Avenue at about 3:45 p.m.

Father and son died a few hours later at Velez Hospital.

Maj. Gen. Jacinto Ligot, commander of the Armed Forces’ Central Command, said Jumao-as was shot in the chest while his son sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
