                    [Summary] => Osaka, Japan – Global electronics giant Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd., best known for its Panasonic and National brands of appliances, is taking the lead in the Japanese government’s efforts to recycle obsolete home appliances.


Its recycling arm, Matsushita Eco Technology Center Co. Ltd. (METEC), was set up in 2001 – just as the Law for Recycling of Specified Kinds of Home Appliances took effect – at the town of Yashiro, northwest of this Japanese southern capital.
