Relatives of Tio have relayed to Commander Samal Masgal that they could not raise the money to buy an M-16 rifle, he added.

Lt. Col. Franklin Del Prado, spokesman of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, said a contingent of soldiers, backed by militiamen, are now in pursuit of the two groups, one led by Samal Masgal and the other by Asraf Tayuan, who both have 30 or so armed followers each.

The Army’s 6th Infantry Division here identified the fatalities as siblings Salem and Salik Gambong and their relative, Faisa Kalusan, who all died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.
