Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes has asked fire victims in barangay Tipolo not to construct new houses at the site as the city wants to put in place an access road and other developments in the area before they can rebuild their homes.

Mandaue City administrator Serafin Blanco said this after a meeting with the officials of the foundation yesterday.

Each house can shelter two families.

Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Ouano has also instructed Blanco to write all the 170 local government units in the country to donate one house each for the fire victims.
