[Summary] => The Makati Police Department (MPD) announced yesterday a 25 percent drop in the city’s crime rate for the first half of the year 2005.
Crime activity, a report to Mayor Jejomar Binay showed, went down to 235 incidents compared to 313 during the same period in 2004.
The MPD likewise announced an increase in crime solution efficiency to 94 percent compared to last year’s 92 percent.

Mayor Jejomar Binay reported that 109 stray dogs were impounded by the Makati City Veterinary Office (MCVO) and the Department of Public Safety ( MAPSA).
Based on the data of the MCVO, the most number of impounded dogs came from Barangay Rizal with 32 followed by Pembo with 23; Pio del Pilar, 13, South Cembo, 11, Carmona, 8; Bangkal, 7; Cembo, 6; Pitogo, 5; and Kasilawan, 4.
