[Title] => Mayon lava flow slows down
[Summary] =>
LEGAZPI CITY Volcanologists said the lava flow of Mayon Volcano has slowed down, with an aerial survey showing the lavas toe stopping at 6.8 kilometers from the crater.
But Lestie Saquillon, a science researcher of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), warned that the slowdown of lava extrusion, among other parameters, "is no guarantee yet or a solid basis to say that Mayon is already simmering down.

[Title] => Mayon ashfalls reach Daraga, Legazpi City
[Summary] => LEGAZPI CITY Continuous lava flows from Mayon Volcano have triggered ashfalls that have drifted toward this city and adjacent Daraga town, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.
Mayon have extruded some 12 million to 14 million cubic meters of lava since July 15, part of them now flowing through the Mabinit channel.
The slow moving lava mass has reached about 5.4 aerial kilometers from the volcanos crater, Phivolcs said.

[Title] => More blasts at Mayon
[Summary] =>
LEGAZPI CITY Government volcanologists said Mayon Volcano continues to exhibit a "sustained high level of unrest," with more frequent secondary explosions triggering pyroclastic flows, more tremors and a bigger volume of sulfur dioxide emitted.
Predicting "a fair probability of an explosive eruption," they advised villagers within the volcanos seven-kilometer radius to get ready for evacuation.
A number of Albay residents, however, have voluntarily left their homes due to Mayons continued rumblings and explosions.

[Title] => Residents flee as Mayon lava flows
[Summary] => LEGAZPI CITY Villagers living near Mt. Mayon are starting to leave their homes, spooked by pyroclastic flow and several ash explosions on the slopes of the lava-spewing volcano.
Mushroom clouds of ash shot up into the sky starting around 7:30 a.m., sending farmers running for safety as parents took their children home from school.
It was the first time villagers started packing since the volcano started acting up Friday. The ash columns were observed along the Bonga and sMabinit gullies, facing this city and the towns of Sto. Domingo and Daraga in Albay.
