To take advantage of the surging demand for solo motorcycles in the Philippines, the Norkis Group recently announced the additional 20 exclusive outlets for its locally assembled motorcycle brands.

(NARC) president Luis B. Quisumbing announced yesterday that Norkis would start the assembly by 2004 of several Chrysler vehicles, namely the Durango and Town and Country van.

In line with this, Quisumbing said NARC is moving its assembly operations from Mandaue to Canamucan, Compostela, North of Cebu.

The 10-hectare Compostela facility, Quisumbing said, is part of the facilities turned over by NARC’s former partner, Daewoo, as settlement for the dissolution of its partnership with NARC.

In view of the problems bugging the nation and the world at large, yes, most everyone’s expectation is it will be a difficult year. In the past, Filipinos faced hard, or harsher times. But they survived them all and emerged, perhaps, even generally better off, especially if one would look beyond material things. Indeed, in this country, as elsewhere, there are good and bad times. A basic reality as an offshoot of humanity’s imperfection and mortality.
