The Vice Mayors' League of the Philippines - Central Visayas held its Visayas Island Congress 2006 at the Grand Convention Center last October 10-12.


Those present were the mayors of the 47 municipalities and component cities of the Province of Cebu, delegates from Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor as spearheaded by VMLP-CV acting president Hon. Amadeo V. Seno, Jr.


This year's theme "Local Legislature: Building a Credible World-Class Philippine Local Governance" highlights the need for a better nation-building emanating from the grassroots.
