[Title] => Who is Mother Mary in McCartney's Let It Be?
[Summary] => Do you know why friends who call me on my cell phone get the urge to stand up and put their right hands over their left chest? Because my ringback tone is Lupang Hinirang (thanks to Wyngard Tracy who passed it on to me).

[Title] => Let It Be is product of a ‘lovely dream’
[Summary] =>
The Beatles’ Let It Be is, along with the same quartet’s Yesterday, one of the most enduring and best-loved songs, ranking among the oft-sung songs of the past century. But did you know how the song came to be? I didn’t, until my good friend, bookworm and Funfare-follower Robin Tong, sent me this interesting excerpt from the book The Right Words At The Right Time by Marlo Thomas and Friends (pp. 217-219, Atria Books, New York, 2002):

[Title] => Painful lessons from a tragedy
[Summary] => How do we find meaning and provide words that help make sense of that which has just hurt all of humanity? In this moment of disbelief and shock, all I can think of is how very horrible things sometimes happen to pave the way for transformation hopefully for the better. This concept of sacrifice is not unfamiliar to us. Regardless of our respective religions, many of us were brought up to believe that human tragedy serves a purpose, whether to shock us to change, to purify or to evolve us into more enlightened beings.
