[Title] => Nissan rolls out new models to boost sales
[Summary] => Nissan Motor Philippines, Inc. (NMPI) is rolling out new models to boost its automotive sales, a top company official said.

In talks with newsmen during the recent launch of the Nissan Murano, NMPI president Leman Lee said the company plans in the next five years to roll out three completely knocked-down (CKD) models.

One would be a replacement of the Nissan Sentra, possibly in late 2007. The second would be the next generation Cefiro and the third would be a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), Lee said.

(NMPI) is projecting better unit sales next year compared to this year’s projection of 5,500 units and the 5,600 units that were sold last year.

According to Leman Lee, president and chief executive officer of NMPI, "We expect sales to improve by next year due to the introduction of new models. The projected sales for this year is slightly down as buyers hold off purchases with the implementation of the Expanded Value Added Tax (EVAT), high gasoline prices as well as the political instability."
