President Gloria Arroyo has released a total of P10,227,256.25 for the repair and improvement of city, district and municipal jails nationwide from her standby fund.


Bureau of Jail Management and Penology chief director Arturo Alit said a total of P7.6-million was allocated for the improvement of 16 female jail facilities in Regions 1, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, ARMM, CAR and NCR.
