[Title] => Ilocos Sur dad slain
[Summary] => STA. MARIA, Ilocos Sur Investigators still have no clues in the murder of a councilor here even as his partymates suspect that a hired killer did the job.
Councilor Larry Gapusan was felled by seven gunshot wounds, two in the head, one in the chest and four in the back, inflicted by a masked gunman inside his farm at about 8 a.m. last Friday.
A farmhand, who was with Gapusan during the incident, said the councilor had just entered the farm, fenced off with chicken wire, when he was gunned down.

[Title] => EDITORIAL - Man of the hour
[Summary] => Only a few weeks ago the House of Representatives was a favorite object of public vilification. Long regarded as the haven of traditional politicians more interested in the congressional pork barrel than in legislation, there was derision each time the chamber was referred to as the "lower" House. The home of wheelers and dealers and political horse traders, the House of Representatives was seen for many years as the rubber stamp of Malacañang.

[Title] => EDITORIAL - Rally for change
[Summary] => Just days after announcing that the Estrada ship is taking in water, Mar Roxas resigned as secretary of trade and industry. Next to quit was a close supporter of the President, Political Affairs Adviser Angelito Banayo. The Presidents economic advisers from the private sector have stepped aside. Over at the House of Representatives, a majority of congressmen now support the Presidents impeachment after 46 lawmakers led by Speaker Manuel Villar himself signed the complaint and bolted the ruling Lapian ng Masang Pilipino coalition.
