Macondray Plastics Inc. (MPI) reported a 22.4-percent growth in its net income in the first half this year to P10.6 million from P8.66 million the previous  year, largely due to higher revenues.


Based on its financial report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, sales revenues of MPI grew 26 percent to P199.8 million from P158.6 million

About 39.1 percent of MPI’s revenues were generated from the sale of export packaging products which marked a 65-percent increase from the year-ago level of P78.2 million

MPI chairman Martin Lorenzo said the plant, which will be the company’s third, will be operational in February 2006.

The company’s main facility is located in Panacan, Davao while the second facility is located in Panabo, Davao Del Norte.

Lorenzo said the new plant will boost production capacity by 60 to 70 percent of the existing capacity.
