                    [Summary] => Department of Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano announced during his keynote address at the Fiesta Hermosa street dancing program on October 11 that Zamboanga City and Region 9 posted a record high 65.86 percent increase in tourist arrival for the first six months of the year. 


The DOT 9 Regional Office records showed that 173,973 domestic and foreign tourists came during the first semester compared to only 104,889 for the same period last year. Domestic and international travelers posted 67.61 percent and 39.07 percent increases respectively.
