TAGAYTAY CITY — An Indian national who received a Magsaysay Award recently for his fight against corruption in his country said the Philippines needs a law that will allow public access to information on government projects to ensure transparency and accountability.

The Magsaysay Awards will be formally given on Aug. 31 at the CCP to the following:

Cambodian Ek Sonn Chan for "his exemplary rehabilitation of a ruined public utility, bringing safe drinking water to a million people in Cambodia’s capital."

Park Won Soon for "his principled activism fostering social justice, fair business practices, clean government, and a generous spirit in South Korea’s young democracy.
