The main website of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was shut down yesterday morning by an attack of so-called “hactivists” from various countries who logged into the website at the same time, causing it to become inaccessible.

The Directorate for Information and Communications Technology Management (DICTM) of the Philippine National Police today placed itself on high alert for a possible series of cyber attack on its websites by hackers or “hactivists” from China in the wake of the recent hostage taking tragedy in Manila.
