LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Independent Hollywood studio Miramax Films said yesterday it would appeal a US movie ratings watchdog’s decision to bar youngsters, crucial to box office returns, from seeing a World War II movie. 


The studio’s warning followed a decision by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to impose an "R" rating on "The Great Raid," the story of the liberation of a World War II Japanese concentration camp in the Philippines by US soldiers.
