It was lost to me what specific cases were being readied although what came out rather clear was that the alleged legal cause of action of the police was the reported attempt of the rallyists to get near the President's Cebu office.

GSM spokeswoman Kaira Alburo said the street party was nothing but a useless idea in these times when Filipinos are gripped with hunger and poverty because of Arroyo's alleged corruption and misrule.
"To waste the people's money on a uselessly extravagant activity is an insult to the Cebuanos who have long been deprived of the basic local services," she said.
