[Title] => Napocor, Meralco sign supply contract
[Summary] =>
After years on the negotiating table, the state-owned National Power Corp. (Napocor) and the Lopez-managed Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) finally signed a transition supply contract (TSC) good for five years which is expected to ensure Meralco customers of a continuous reliable supply of electricity.
Under the agreement signed last Nov. 16, the five-year term of the TSC will be automatically terminated one year after the introduction of the open access scheme, which could be adopted by 2007.

[Title] => Marikina family is Huwarang Pamilya awardee
[Summary] => Life has been hard for the family of Francisco and Gloria Mora. Their Sunday retreat to a movie house and a favorite restaurant with their three sons have long stopped so they could save money.
"We just attend Mass together and go straight home afterwards. Sometimes, wed go to the market and cook something special for lunch. Its cheaper," said Gloria, 41.
Gloria recalled that life was better when she and Francisco, 43, were working in a big shoe factory several years ago. But the business hit a lull and they lost their jobs.

[Summary] => The display of temper tantrums during the Lower House Justice Committee impeachment hearing is very unfortunate indeed. It does not augur well for a peaceful ending to the worst political crisis currently plaguing our country. I believe this is the single most plausible reason why the middle forces continue to remain in the sideline and stay out of the controversy. They are getting scared of a possible scenario where emotion will overcome reason in our painful search for the truth.

[Summary] => The "Garci tape" controversy obviously casts the darkest shadow on PGMAs moral ascendancy to govern. Ironically, the Palace people themselves fueled the fire that provided the opposition with enough steam to keep the dispute raging and to give weight to the issues surrounding it.
