[Title] => Who are the five people you admire the most?
[Summary] => A few years back, author Mitch Albom posed the literary question, “Who are the five people you would meet in heaven?” This week, as we approach Christmas, I’d like to extend that question to the earthly plain as well, and so I’ve asked a group of esteemed individuals from various vocations to tell me who the five people they admire the most — living or dead — are and what made them such great influences on their lives.

[Title] => What’s the biggest cross you’ve had to carry?
[Summary] =>
Trials and suffering will always be part of our lives. Life without trials would be lifeless and dull. Based on my experience, during those times that the cross we are carrying seems so heavy we find that a reward is always there for us. I guess the most important thing is how we handle the pain and how we can turn a negative situation into a positive one. Keep in our minds and hearts the overused but very true phrase "The Lord will never give us anything that we can’t handle" and that He is always by our side.

[Title] => What word or phrase do you wish people would say more often?
[Summary] =>
As children, we were often told that if we had nothing nice to say, better not to say anything at all. Words are so powerful that whatever we say can make or break a relationship. It’s painful and hard to forget once someone has hurled hurtful words at us, and when we hear something positive, it encourages us and definitely inspires us to do better.
VITTORIO BARBA, equestrian/designer: "Mabuhay!" For me it’s the ultimate salutation. I use it mostly when I text but I wish I would hear it more often. It’s a Pinoy classic.

[Title] => If you could memorize a book from cover to cover, which would it be?
[Summary] =>
Growing up I would see my father read tons and tons of books. Whenever we would go anywhere, seeing a bookstore never failed to put a big smile on his face. Once my husbands foreign guests were so impressed that my father knew even more than they did about their country. They were very surprised that my dad knew the names of prominent leaders, the history of their country, even down to towns and streets not normally known to tourists. And when he would be asked how long ago he had visited their country, he would say he had learned about it through the books he had read.
