[Title] => Milestones
[Summary] => My heartfelt sympathy goes to the kin and friends of Othoniel Jimenez, Bedan teacher once upon a time so long ago, who passed away last week. I managed to drop in at the wake last Wednesday, and spoke to his older brother Jimmy who also taught at San Beda.

[Title] => Sex, art, poetry and more sex
[Summary] => An old creative writing teacher in college once said that one of the best ways to exercise the writing muscles was try to compose love poems, love verses being almost generic to the medium. But there were several pitfalls involved, because the beginner must try to steer clear of the cliché, the trite and outright sentimental in dealing with the most primal of emotions.

[Title] => Bulletin board
[Summary] => Part of the satisfaction in running a regular column, other than having a potential bully pulpit, is the opportunity to render humanitarian service, as when it welcomes the posting of announcements, congratulations, credits for a change in hairstyle, or, well, rendering assistance to couples seeking a comeback after years of estrangement. Eh? Oops, got carried away there. Valentines Day draws near.

[Title] => Plumbing the erotic
[Summary] => Its been a week since the holy one, so I suppose were safely out of politically or piously incorrect territory for this discussion.
One more caveat Id have to admit is the fear of severe misim-pression: that the speaker has valid claims for assuming the dubious position of an expert in matters erotic.
Lets just say that Ive been placed in this awkward role through sheer happenstance. It just so happens that I have recently edited or helped edit two forthcoming publications that thematically group erotic Philippine literature in English.
