[Title] => PDEA, Gwen back drug tests for candidates for May polls
[Summary] =>
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency is supporting the move of the Commission on Elections to require all candidates for the coming elections to submit themselves to a drug test.
PDEA regional director Amado Marquez said that requiring candidates to submit themselves to a drug test would ensure that elected officials are free from illegal drug use.
"That is logical and legitimate ang purpose ng drug test," Marquez said.
PDEA said candidates found positive of illegal drug use will be charged aside from being disqualified from running for public office.
