[Title] => 2 abductors of Cebu boy meted death
[Summary] => CEBU CITY For forever scarring the childhood of Ryan James Yu, two of his kidnappers were meted the death penalty, while two of their accomplices were slapped jail terms of 40 years and 17 years.
A fifth cohort was acquitted on insufficiency of evidence.
Yu, who was 11 years old when he was abducted in July 2001, was in the packed courtroom when the verdict was read. He simply said that he was happy with the convictions.
The crowd erupted into cheers after the sentence was read. It took the court clerk nearly two hours to read the 16-page decision.

[Title] => Kidnapped boy identifies suspect
[Summary] => CEBU CITY Despite their claims of torture and plea of not guilty, things are not turning up well for the five arrested suspects in the kidnapping of 11-year-old Ryan James Yu.
The other day, Yu, a Grade 5 pupil, positively identified one of the suspects, Edgar Manimog, as one of his kidnappers.
Yu said Manimog was the one who sat beside him inside the white Kia Pride the kidnappers had used as getaway car.
The boy was first snatched by two men on a motorbike in Peace Valley, Lahug while walking to school, and was then delivered to a waiting car.
