                    [Summary] => TARLAC CITY — A 46-year-old Municipal Trial Court judge, who was earlier nabbed by local agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and charged with bribery, hanged himself last week.  


MTC Judge Arnel Peralta, of Paniqui town, was found lifeless, with a nylon cord tied around his neck, inside his residence last Wednesday morning. 


His wife, Teresita, rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.


Investigators ruled out foul play in the incident, saying the judge’s death was "plain suicide."

                    [Summary] => PANIQUI, Tarlac — Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a Municipal Trial Court judge here last Tuesday after allegedly accepting marked bribe money from a daughter of a former Tarlac mayor. 


Lawyer Florencio Binalay, head of the NBI provincial office, said criminal charges of direct extortion and violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act have been filed against Judge Arnel Peralta.
