[Title] => When good men make the wrong choices
[Summary] => The rather sad saga of erstwhile MMDA chairman, Francis Tolentino, illustrates how just one wrong move destroys a whole lifetime of goodness, how a single bad choice obliterates a long career of dedication and faithfulness to public trust. Francis Tolentino, of course, is neither a living saint nor a sinless angel.

[Title] => Mark: Madame Imelda will probably enjoy the show
[Summary] => Up to now, Mark Bautista told Funfare in an exclusive phone interview yesterday that, although he felt a big relief, the excitement of the first preview of the musical Here Lies Love last Sept. 30 at the National Theatre south of London hasn’t died down.

[Title] => Making his Mark in London
[Summary] => First, a little clarification: Unlike Rachelle Ann Go (who’s a smash as Gigi in Miss Saigon, currently playing at the Prince Edward Theater) and the other Filipino talents before her (led by Lea Salonga who originated the role of Kim in the same musical), Mark Bautista will take a bow on world stage as Ferdinand Marcos in the musical Here Lies Love not at the West End but at the National Theatre at the south side of this city.

[Title] => Cruel
[Summary] => I do not recall a season like this one in our politics. It is all the rules of normal civility, all the norms of gentlemanly engagement, have been flushed down the toilet.
Gladiators, even when they had to fight to death, had more courtesy towards their adversaries than what we see today among the most vicious of our politicians.
I can understand that burning ambition can sometimes drive men to do absurd things. But I do not understand the seething attitude that seems to have possessed some of those who occupy positions that demand the highest degree of statesmanship.
