To accommodate the various activities in the city for Holy Week, the Makati City government will be opening J.P. Rizal Street from Reposo Street to Makati Avenue to two-way traffic from March 26 to April 8.

DPS Director Hermenegildo San Miguel said the lifting of the color coding scheme is in accordance with the observance of the Lenten season and the celebration of the "Araw ng Kagitingan" on Monday, an official holiday.

Meanwhile, the Makati Museum and Cultural Affairs Office is urging residents and guests to join activities slated for the observance of the Lenten break.

MAPSA Director Hermenegildo San Miguel reported that the volume of traffic in Makati City has increased by an estimated 50 percent this year compared to the previous year.

San Miguel attributed the increase to the exemptions issued by the MMDA for the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or what is more popularly known as the color-coding scheme.
