[Title] => Mind your own business, House tells Senate on budget deliberations
[Summary] =>
Senators should mind their own business instead of keeping an eye on the House of Representatives, a House official suggested yesterday as leaders of Congress said deliberations on the 2006 national budget are on track.
"Just like in a basketball game, why dont (the senators) just start their own game in their own court rather than watch us play and cheer us to finish the game within the regulated time?" Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr., chairman of the House appropriations committee, asked.

[Title] => 26 solons call for speedy court action on P100-B coco levy fund
[Summary] => Twenty-six lawmakers have joined Speaker Jose de Venecias appeal for the courts to expedite decision on the P100-billion coconut levy fund and the P35-billion Marcos deposits to address the large budget deficit which he called "a major national problem."
The lawmakers said the country will be the single biggest beneficiary if the two controversial cases, already under litigation for over a decade, are resolved sooner than later "so we can finally and fully utilize" the funds.
