[Summary] => We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. — 2 Corinthians 5:10

During preparation for jury duty, I watched a videotape that said: "All across the state, jury panels are being assembled to sit in judgment of others, just as one day people may assemble to sit in judgment of us."

Being judged by a jury of my peers is possible, but standing before Almighty God is certain. Our works will be evaluated and our reward determined by the Lord.

According to a survey conducted by an insurance company, one of every six workers in the US feels too busy to take all the vacation days he or she has earned. Even though studies show that a week’s holiday each year can dramatically reduce stress and the risk of heart attack, many people just keep working.

During the visit with a friend suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease, I asked what lessons God was teaching her as she tra-veled down this difficult road. Her immediate response was "Loss of control".

Someone needs to talk to you today. Are you willing to listen? It may be a deep confession of failure, an expression of faith, an old joke, or a comment about the weather, but it needs to be said. The person may be a child or a senior citizen. Are you ready to lend an ear?

I thought it was a misprint when the schedule at a Christian men’s conference noted 2-1/2 hours of introductions. But the time was correct and it turned out to be the most meaningful part of the weekend for me.

In 1946, when the US Army unveiled its 30-ton computer called ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer), two men named John Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert received all the credit. But it was six women behind the scenes who made the computer work.

Before Mauchly and Eckert took the stage to demonstrate ENIAC, the women had programmed the complex machine. They received no recognition at the time, but historians today want to give them due credit.

Every January, health club memberships dramatically increase and exercise rooms become crowded with what some people call "the New Year’s resolution crowd". Fitness regulars know that by March many of the newcomers will be gone. "They don’t see results as quickly as they think they will," says one club director. "People don’t realize it takes a lot of work and perseverance to get in shape."
