In the Philippines, as they say, will never have a shortage of extreme weather conditions which cause humanly-avoidable disasters on the ground.

This year, at least two notable intense blows from the skies hit the country: the brutal monsoon rains that ran for eight days in August and the “super typhoon” Pablo that swept across Mindanao in December.
