[Title] => Pinoys put up good show in paralympics
[Summary] =>
Even the differently abled Filipino athletes and their counterparts in collegiate sports contributed in making 2006 a modestly successful year for Philippine sports.
Less than a week before the 15th Asian Games unfurled in Doha, Qatar where Team Philippines brought home four gold, six silver and nine bronze medals, a small contingent of 40 athletes and officials took part in the Asian Paralympic Games and went home with a pair of gold medals, the best in the countrys participation in the quadrennial conclave.

[Title] => RP collects six more golds
[Summary] => The Philippines captured six gold medals yesterday to hike its total to 13 but Thailand proved unstoppable and virtually clinched the overall title with still two days to go in the third ASEAN Para Games at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
The Nationals won two each in chess and table tennis and one apiece in medal-rich athletics and swimming as they overtook the Indonesians and the Singaporeans from seventh place to fifth. The 13-gold medal haul already surpassed the countrys 2003 Hanoi edition performance of two-gold, 15 silver and 23 bronze medals.
