[Summary] => When I was a boy, I always wondered about Palm Sunday. On that day, the Jews gathered in great crowds, and shouted, and cheered: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” They waved palms, and stretched out their garments in front of the donkey that carried him into Jerusalem!

[Title] => The cross and the crown
[Summary] => Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey. Zechariah 9:9
On the day we call Palm Sunday the Lord Jesus presented Himself to Israel as their King when He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Had He been astride a spirited horse, He would have looked more kingly. But Zechariah had prophesied He would come in the humble way that He did.
Why? Kings of the East rode donkeys when on errands of peace. The horse was used as a charger in war.

[Title] => These wounds are Christs Passion
[Summary] => Perhaps there need be anything more to add to the reviews being published in local dailies and magazines about the blockbuster movie, The Passion of the Christ. A story which has been told and retold from generation to generation should by this time be stale narrative. But hardly. A lot of Hollywood producers didnt believe the film was commercially viable for they doubted that it would hit box-office. So producer, Mel Gibson, financed its production at a cost of US $20-million. Now it has made some US $400-million and more rewards are still foreseen.

[Title] => Sunday-to-Sunday holyday
[Summary] => Tomorrow marks the start of our longest holyday Holy Week. Actually it is more than a week for it starts on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday, a total of eight days. The so-called twelve days of Christmas is not a continuous holyday and it has been shortened since the Epiphany became a moveable feast. Anyway, tomorrow is Palm Sunday, a day now officially called Passiontide. It will always be called Palm Sunday by the folk because it is commemorated with the blessing of palm leaves that culminates in a procession.

[Title] => Hosanna Hosanna Crucify him Crucify him - Roses And Thorns byAlejandro R. Roces
[Summary] =>
Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week. It commemorates Christ's
triumphal entry into Jerusalem when olive and palm branches were strewn in his
path with the people shouting "Hosanna!" meaning "Save us, we pray!" The ironic
part is that only six days later, the very same people would be saying,
"Crucify Him!"
In the Philippines, we commemorate the occasion with the blessing of woven
coconut palms that we call palaspas.
