[Title] => Skyway toll rate increase suspended
[Summary] => A day after it was set to be implemented, the Metro Manila Skyway management announced that collection of increased toll rates has been suspended until July 16.
"President Arroyo advised us to suspend the increase because it seemed to her, we did not devote enough time for the information campaign," said Ramon Borromeo, spokesperson of the Citra-Metro Manila Tollways Corp. (CMMTC).
Borromeo admitted failure on CMMTCs part to properly inform the public of the increase, scheduled to take effect yesterday and would be in effect until Dec. 31.

[Title] => Citra toll increase proposal opposed
[Summary] => Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi vowed yesterday to fight the increase in Skyway toll being sought by Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corp. (CMMTC).
Fresnedi assailed the planned toll fee hike, saying that there was no justification for the CMMTC to ask for increases in their rates which are already steep. He said the whole city government, including the city council, was supporting him because any such hike would directly affect the lives of his constituents.

[Title] => Citra to DENR: Why fine us now?
[Summary] =>
Skyway developer Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corp. (CMMTC) questioned yesterday
the recent order of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)
for the firm to pay a P58.8-million fine due to alleged irregularities in the
construction of the elevated highway's entry and exit ramps.
A CMMTC source who asked not to be identified said the order of the DENR came
as a surprise to them as the construction of the Skyway ramps being questioned
were already finished.
