[Title] => My El Nido
[Summary] => It’s neither the distance nor the exoticness of a destination that makes travel an exquisite experience. A short flight less than an hour from Manila can do wonders to a weary soul.

[Title] => Noni & Nemo at Club Noah
[Summary] =>
2007 was off to a great but harried start for me. Pressures from editorial deadlines were now competing with pressures from my design consultancy work and my teaching load at the UP College of Architecture. I needed a break, so I flew to paradise in Palawan with the wife and a bunch of similarly harassed urbanites for a fantastic weekend. The destination: Club Noah Isabelle.

[Title] => Across the miles
[Summary] => When given a few days off to chill, one must still choose wisely. People usually go on vacations for rest and recreation. However, it is important not to shy away from engaging in something cultural. The best places to get both are still local destinations. So pack travel must-haves like sunscreen, swimsuit, book, iPod, and, of course, a credit card and begin the journey of a thousand miles.

[Title] => Club Noah Isabelle: Pristine Paradise Rendezvous
[Summary] => Thick blankets of dust spiraled in mid-air as our Asian Spirit flight to Taytay, Palawan landed after an hour and a half from Manila. Within the vicinity, no community except of course for the seemingly makeshift arrival and departure area and the three stalls with toothy vendors selling dried squid and roasted cashew nuts seemed to exist. The airport, what with its red soil surrounded by rocky mountains and thickets, reminded my best friend Büm Tenorio and myself about our unforgettable trip to Mpumalanga, South Africa.

[Summary] => The reason for naming this world-class resort Club Noah Isabelle is simple: Like the biblical character Noah who found new land after the great flood, the resort’s founders felt like celebrating the moment they discovered this island paradise in 1990.

[Title] => A corporative resort
[Summary] => Sta. Isabelle Corp. is a cooperative, which prefers to be classified as a "corporative."
"So far, it has a worked," said vice-president Ricky Tamparong. Club Noah Isabelle, a luxury resort in Palawan, is owned by its employees but is run as a corporation.
All the founding employees (many of whom help start the nearby resort El Nido) have an equal share in the company, which was incorporated in 1994 but which opened only in 1996.
