I realized that I am a different person when I am in Australia compared to when I was in Manila. Even when Mama was here I did not use “po” or “opo” that much. When I was in Manila, each sentence started and ended with “po” or “opo.” When you have been away for quite awhile, Filipinos will always observe if you have changed or not. I think it is unfair for them to read you, especially if they have not yet experienced living abroad. Yes, I did change, and if they haven’t noticed it yet, Manila has changed a lot too. People change.

Participated in by 36 students representing the various high schools in the city, this once-a-year contest which began in1998 and is fast becoming a tradition, is part of the property’s continuing commitment to promote and enhance Philippine arts and culture among today’s young generation.
