Former governor Faustino Dy Jr. vehemently denied published reports that one of the suspects who were arrested in a recent buy-bust operation by Quezon City police was his son.


Jonathan Dy was nabbed during the last week of March. Former Isabela governor Dy said he doesn’t know Jonathan Dy.


"I have only two sons, Faustino Michael and Anthony. And definitely I don’t have a son by the name of Jonathan," stressed Dy, the national president of the Nationalist People’s Coalition.

A lawyer of former Isabela governor Faustino Dy Jr. said yesterday that a man arrested for selling 30 ecstasy tablets during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City last week was not his client’s son.


Contrary to a report released by the Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF), lawyer Constante Foronda Jr. said his client is not the father of the suspect, initially reported as Ronaldo Dy.

A prosecutor from the Department of Justice (DOJ) recommended that the son of former Isabela governor Faustino Dy Jr. and two others be held without bail after they were arrested for selling 30 Ecstasy tablets to anti-drug agents during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City last week.


Senior State prosecutor Archimedes Manabat issued his recommendation after receiving the affidavit of arrest and laboratory test results on Jonathan Dy, 28; Carlo Castro, 29; and Castel Vinci Estacio, 21.
