 Diversifying conglomerate San Miguel Corp. (SMC) reported yesterday that it has completed the $300-million bond offering of its power subsidiary, SMC Global Power Holdings Corp.

Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla said this development serves as a major boost to the country’s energy independence program through acceleration of the exploration and development of the indigenous energy resources, particularly local coal.
